We are so happy to have Brad playing with us, he really rocks! Jeff, Brad and I got together in SF a few weeks ago, playing songs, improvising, soloing and getting to know each other. We clicked. It clicked. It rocked! Hard to believe we hadn't crossed paths in the Bay Area before, so, we're going to make up for lost time by starting off with seven weeks of fun in Europe. It's always cool to bring someone new into the group who can add to the party, and Brad does that and more. Jeff, Galen, Brad and I can't wait to get this tour goin'... See you out there!

NEW ALBUM: PROFESSOR SATCHAFUNKILUS AND THE MUSTERION OF ROCK

We're just days away from the April 1 release date of Joe's new studio album, entitled "Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock"!

Limited quantities of the a deluxe CD/DVD edition of the album are available at a few locations including online pre-sales and the upcoming Guitar Center Sessions shows that Joe is performing the first 2 weeks of April. We also have reports that the CD/DVD will be available in some form in the following countries: Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Holland, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, Australia, and Taiwan

TOUR UPDATE: GUITAR CENTER SESSIONS + EUROPEAN & AUSTRALIA TOURS 

Joe will be doing a special "Guitar Center Sessions" tour starting on the release date of the new album on April 1st and running through through April 11th. The tour features question and answer sessions, autographing, and best of all live performances featuring material from the new album and old favorites. All shows take place at Guitar Center stores and begin at 6pm. 

After the GC Sessions dates, Joe and the band will head off to Europe and then down to Australia. US tour dates will be announced in the future.

I am happy to announce we are on schedule for a new CD release date of April 1st, '08, and the Joe Satriani 2008 European Tour! While I'm at it I should come up with an album title too! At the moment, John Cuniberti and I are busy mixing the new tracks at The Plant in Sausalito, and they sound amazing! Right across the hall Journey has been recording a new record as well, so, it's been a cool environment to work in; lots of creativity in the air... And, hearing Neal Schon's guitar work drifting through the door and down the hallway has been very inspiring!

20th ANNIVERSARY "SURFING WITH THE ALIEN" BOX SET ARRIVES

The box set has finally arrived! Those of you who pre-ordered should be receiving (if you haven't already) your copy-- hopefully with your autographed liner notes.

In case you haven't picked up your copy yet or are new to our newsletter, this 20th anniversary is a special two-disc DVD and CD box set and features the classic album remastered by original engineer John Cuniberti and Joe, plus a never before seen performance from 1988 at Montreux Jazz Festival!

We will randomly select TEN winners who will each receive 2 tickets for them and a friend for this exclusive private engagement.

You'll be able to enter the drawing starting on Jul 21st and winners will be drawn the following week on Jul 28th.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of SURFING WITH THE ALIEN, the album has been remastered from original tapes by John Cuniberti and repackaged with a never-before-seen 1988 live show from Montreux Jazz Festival, new liner notes by Joe and other memoriabilia from Joe's personal archives. The box set is set for an AUGUST 7TH release and more news will be upcoming next week on various contests and promotions that will get you prize packages, other exclusive content, and more!

MESSAGE FROM JOE

It's February, and this an email up date from yours truly Joe Satriani... Let me tell you first, that Steve Vai and I had a fine and good time playing "Super Colossal" for the Grammy Pre-Tel audience at the Grammys this past weekend. Here's a mini photo as proof:

The Pre-Tel is where four thousand or so members gather to celebrate and give out awards for 97 of the 108 Grammy categories. These are not televised, mostly because it would make show about 7 hours long!
It's low key, but, taken quite seriously, by some.

Although a good time was had by all, I did in fact not win a Grammy.
Yes, for the fourteenth time! But, many fine people did, which is good.

While sitting through the three hour Grammy show I got a chance to chat with Jack White and the Raconteurs, Susan Tedeschi, Nelly and other notables. Some say they caught a glimpse of me on TV wearing my black hat. There's a funny story about that, but I'll get to that some other time...

The news on the G3 tour is that we will offer "CLUB JOE," a new meet and greet experience. "CLUB JOE" guests will receive a 60 minute Q&A and autograph session with me, a personal photograph, a guided tour of my on-stage "Guitar World' and an autographed copy of my new double DVD "Satriani Live". Plus, two lucky guests will be brought back onstage to watch the show's encore from the side of the stage!

John Petrucci, Paul Gilbert and I are really looking forward to going head to head, toe to toe and string to string all across the USA and Canada. Come on out and help us write a new chapter in G3 history!

SATRIANI TICKET PRE-SALE INFO REMINDER

As reminder, we often provide links to exclusive online ticket presales for Joe's shows. This last tour we've been working very closely with the fine folks at Entourage Talent who book Joe's tours and are making great progress in bringing all of these presales to you on a regular basis. It can be a very complicated process to work with different local promoters for each show, but we've been updating SATRIANI.COM with updated information on a daily basis, so we hope regular visitors have been appreciating these efforts.

So, keep this in mind for the future and check the site regularly if you are interested in picking up advance tickets for future shows.
Since the leadtime is often not enough time to send out email blasts, checking the web site is the best way to be sure you catch them.

We also have plans to do more targeted emails to members who are signed up to this newsletter so that instead of filling up everyone's email all around the world with details on a single city's presale information, we only let you know based on the city/state/zip information in your profile.
