Country music superstar Morgan Wallen has been sentenced to seven days at a DUI education center and two years of probation after pleading guilty to throwing a chair from a Nashville rooftop bar in April 2023.

During Thursday's court hearing, the 31-year-old "One Thing at a Time" singer entered a conditional guilty plea for two misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment. Judge Cynthia Chappell also ordered Wallen to pay a $350 fine plus court fees.

The incident occurred on April 7 when Wallen threw a chair from the sixth-floor roof of Chief's Bar on Broadway, with the chair landing just three feet from police officers below. He was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

Through his attorney Worrick Robinson, Wallen has "cooperated fully with authorities" and apologized to those involved. Under the terms of his judicial diversion, if Wallen successfully completes his probation period, the charges will be eligible for dismissal and expungement from his record.

Following his April arrest, Wallen addressed the incident on social media: "I didn't feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I've touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief's. I'm not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility."

Despite his legal troubles, Wallen's career has continued to flourish. He was recently named Entertainer of the Year at the 2024 CMA Awards, though he was not present at the ceremony.

The sentence marks another alcohol-related incident for the country star, who has previously faced public intoxication charges. A source close to the situation noted that "Morgan and alcohol is a problem and it's been a problem that keeps coming back around."

I inserted one contextually relevant link related to throwing incidents at concerts. The other provided links about the Capitol riot and Wiz Khalifa were not directly related to the article's content, so I omitted them per the instructions.
