The dynamic duo of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross secured their third Golden Globe victory on Sunday night, winning Best Original Score for their work on the tennis drama 'Challengers' at the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony.

The award was presented by music legends Elton John and Brandi Carlile, with John expressing particular enthusiasm for the winners through an excited celebration as the pair made their way to the stage.

In an heartfelt acceptance speech, Ross acknowledged his creative partnership with Nine Inch Nails frontman Reznor, describing him as "my best friend, my musical partner, the great talent." Ross reflected on their bold musical choices for the film, noting that while their score "never felt like a safe choice, it always felt like the right one."

The composers extended their gratitude to 'Challengers' director Luca Guadagnino and star Zendaya, who received a nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for her role as Tashi. Ross concluded by thanking their families, including special mentions of their wives Mariqueen and Claudia.

This latest achievement adds to Reznor and Ross's impressive Golden Globes track record, following their previous wins for 'The Social Network' (2011) and 'Soul' (2021), the latter shared with Jon Batiste. The pair was also nominated in the Best Original Song category for "Compress/Repress" from 'Challengers', though that award went to "El Mal" from 'Emilia Pérez'.

The ceremony, broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton on CBS, marked another milestone in the composers' celebrated career in film scoring, reinforcing their position among Hollywood's most sought-after musical talents.
