Legendary punk band Sex Pistols have announced their first North American tour in over 20 years, with Frank Carter taking the helm as lead vocalist. The band will perform their iconic 1977 album "Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols" in its entirety across multiple cities starting this fall.
The tour kicks off September 16, 2025, at Dallas' historic Longhorn Ballroom - a venue that holds particular significance for the band. During their 1978 performance there, the original lineup faced a hostile crowd that pelted them with bottles and other objects.
Original members Steve Jones (guitar), Paul Cook (drums), and Glen Matlock (bass) will be joined by Frank Carter, known for his work with Gallows and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. Carter replaces former frontman John Lydon (Johnny Rotten), who is not involved in this reunion.
The 13-date tour includes stops in major cities across the United States and Canada, including Washington, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Montreal, Toronto, Cleveland, Detroit, Minneapolis, Denver, Seattle, and San Francisco. The tour concludes October 16 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles.
"At the end of the day, we're living in a really difficult time. People want to come and be entertained, they want to enjoy themselves," Carter explained about the tour's timing. "Punk is an energetic music. It's one where you can go and vent and let your hair down."
While the band promises a more polished performance compared to their controversial 1978 tour, they maintain their rebellious spirit. "We're a bit older but we play just as well, if not better," notes Matlock.
Tickets go on sale April 4 at 10 a.m. local time, with pre-sales beginning April 2. Additional tour dates are expected to be announced in the coming months.
