In a surprising announcement, music legend Elton John will return to the stage for a special one-off performance at the 2025 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix, even after officially retiring from touring last year.

The iconic British singer-songwriter is scheduled to perform on October 5th, 2025, following the conclusion of the F1 race. The Singapore appearance marks a rare live performance since John wrapped up his farewell "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" tour in 2023, which included a headline set at Glastonbury Festival.

In a recent BBC Radio 2 interview with Scott Mills, John expressed contentment with retirement, stating "I don't miss playing live at all... I dread it." However, he clarified that while stepping back from regular touring, he continues making music and occasionally performs private shows "to keep my chops ready."

The Singapore F1 entertainment lineup will also feature South Korean rapper G-Dragon, who is set to perform on October 3rd.

Before his Singapore appearance, John will take the stage at London's Palladium on March 26th, 2025, alongside collaborator Brandi Carlile. The intimate show will celebrate their upcoming joint album "Who Believes in Angels?" recorded in just 20 days at Los Angeles' Sunset Sound Studios.

While John maintains his retirement from extensive touring, these select performances suggest fans may still have opportunities to see the "Rocket Man" live, albeit on a much more limited basis.
