In a candid interview with "Legends: Podcast" by All Day Vinyl, former Guns N' Roses drummer Matt Sorum shared his thoughts on being left out of the band's high-profile reunion, expressing that he has found peace with the situation.

Sorum, who recorded notable albums with GN'R including "Use Your Illusion I," "Use Your Illusion II" and "The Spaghetti Incident," admitted that while the exclusion initially felt strange, he has come to terms with it over time.

The drummer revealed a touching conversation with Beatles legend Ringo Starr, who reached out to discuss Sorum's absence from "the party." Starr's shared experiences with The Beatles helped Sorum gain a new perspective on the situation.

When questioned about his exclusion from the reunion tour, Sorum suggested that lead singer Axl Rose's loyalty to current drummer Frank Ferrer played a role in the decision. The current lineup features Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan, alongside Ferrer, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus, and Melissa Reese.

Despite being offered a guest appearance opportunity, Sorum declined, feeling that performing just a few songs wouldn't align with his vision. He also mentioned that he hasn't attended any of the reunion shows since Slash and McKagan rejoined the band.

The drummer's legacy with the band remains intact, as evidenced by his 2012 Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction alongside Steven Adler, Slash, and McKagan. Sorum also highlighted how his association with Guns N' Roses has opened doors for various business ventures and philanthropic work.
