Former members of experimental mathcore band iwrestledabearonce (IWABO) have been exploring the possibility of reuniting the group's early lineup. The discussions primarily involve former bassist Mike "Rickshaw" Martin and original vocalist Krysta Cameron.
The band, which disbanded in 2016 after releasing four albums, has maintained a dedicated fanbase that consistently requests their return. Martin recently shared details about the potential reunion on his podcast "Nerding Out With Rickshaw."
During a recent phone conversation between Martin and Cameron, the topic of fan demand for an IWABO reunion emerged. Cameron directly asked Martin if he would participate in a reunion if the opportunity arose. Martin, who currently performs with a different band, expressed immediate interest in the idea.
According to Martin's podcast revelation, Cameron responded enthusiastically, stating she "would fucking love to do an IWABO reunion." The former bandmates are now in the early stages of reconnecting and exploring the feasibility of bringing the project back to life.
Martin emphasized that fan support would play a key role in making the reunion a reality. He encouraged followers to generate buzz around the potential comeback, explaining that strong public interest would help justify the logistics and personal sacrifices required for touring.
The band's legacy extends beyond their original lineup, as former members Courtney LaPlante and Mike Stringer went on to form Spiritbox after their time with IWABO. LaPlante had replaced Cameron as vocalist in 2012.
While specific details remain limited, Martin indicated that additional information would be shared as discussions progress among former members, particularly regarding the involvement of guitarist Steven Bradley.
