The 77-year-old Grateful Dead founding member Bob Weir has revealed his unique approach to staying fit - running barefoot on rocky roads in the early morning hours.

In a recent Rolling Stone interview, Weir shared details about his unconventional exercise routine, which he's been practicing for about a year and a half. "I don't run very fast, because I want to breathe through my nose," Weir explained, noting that he incorporates meditation into his morning runs.

The musician, known for his dedication to fitness and previously popular "gymming" videos, had to temporarily pause his regular workout routines due to a busy schedule. However, he's found a new grounding practice in barefoot running.

When asked about his choice to run without footwear, Weir maintained a philosophical outlook: "I just followed my footsteps, really. We'll see where it leads to. Maybe I'll live longer, or at least happier."
