Legendary rockers Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings have announced plans to reunite for a Guess Who tour in 2026, marking a major comeback for the iconic Canadian band's original members.

The ambitious tour will feature a marathon-length show spanning two to three hours, with plans to perform around 30 of the band's classic hits. "It'll be the unveiling of 'The Guess Who are back,'" Bachman told American Songwriter in a recent interview.

The announcement comes after both musicians wrap up their current projects. Bachman is set to tour North America with a reformed Bachman-Turner Overdrive from April through August, while Cummings recently released his first solo album in 12 years, "A Few Good Moments."

This reunion follows a legal victory for the pair, who successfully challenged unauthorized use of the band's name. In late 2023, they filed a lawsuit against a touring group led by original drummer Garry Peterson, arguing that it misrepresented itself to audiences. The dispute was resolved in September when Bachman and Cummings secured shared trademark rights with Peterson and former drummer Jim Kale.

During the legal battle, Cummings took the dramatic step of suspending performing rights for the band's songs, effectively preventing anyone - including an unauthorized lineup - from performing them live or collecting royalties.

"If there is a group out there calling themselves the Guess Who, it's going to have the lead singer who wrote the songs and the guitarist who made the riffs," Cummings stated, emphasizing that any legitimate version of the band must include both himself and Bachman.

The 2026 tour will mark the first time in years that fans can experience authentic performances of the band's catalog by its original creative forces.
