Streaming giant Hulu has greenlit a new eight-part documentary series exploring the rich history and cultural impact of heavy metal music. The series, currently titled "Into The Void," is being produced by Vice Studios Canada and will premiere in 2025.
The documentary promises to pull back the curtain on some of metal's most legendary figures, offering viewers unprecedented access to the personal stories and emotional journeys behind the genre's most influential artists. Beyond the pyrotechnics and theatrical performances, the series aims to present these iconic musicians as real people with compelling human experiences.
Executive producers Evan Husney and Jason Eisener, both self-proclaimed lifelong metal fans, have been developing the project for several years. "We've always been intrigued by where fantasy meets reality in metal music," Husney shared in a recent announcement. "These sonic landscapes created by bold artists contain incredible untold stories and struggles that deserve to be brought to light."
The eight-episode series will delve deep into the personal trials, triumphs, and behind-the-scenes moments that shaped heavy metal's most towering figures. While the full episode lineup remains under wraps, Hulu plans to reveal more details as the release date approaches.
