Swedish death metal pioneers Entombed have officially returned to the studio to work on their first new material since 2007's "Serpent Saints: The Ten Amendments."
The band shared photos from their recording sessions at drummer Nicke Andersson's studio, where the original core lineup of Andersson, guitarist Alex Hellid, and guitarist Uffe Cederlund has reunited to craft new music.
In an exciting nod to their early days, the band revealed they've brought back a key piece of gear - the Peavey Studio Pro 40 amplifier used on their landmark 1990 debut album "Left Hand Path." The group is testing whether the vintage amp still captures their signature sound.
"We started working on new material at Nicke's studio - digging into the riffs, tones, and everything in between," the band announced through social media, expressing enthusiasm about their creative process.
While no release timeline has been shared, the band promised to keep fans updated as the new material develops. This marks the first time in nearly two decades that these founding members have collaborated on fresh Entombed songs.
The upcoming release will be the band's tenth studio album, following their extensive catalog of influential extreme metal recordings dating back to 1990.
