Legendary rock band My Chemical Romance revealed plans for their highly anticipated "The Black Parade" stadium tour, set to kick off in summer 2024. The announcement comes as the band celebrates the iconic album's upcoming 18th anniversary.
The extensive tour will see MCR performing "The Black Parade" album in its entirety for the first time, alongside other fan favorites from their discography. The band will visit major stadiums across North America, Europe, and Australia.
Lead singer Gerard Way shared his excitement about the upcoming tour: "The Black Parade holds a special place in our hearts. Being able to perform it completely, in massive venues filled with fans who grew up with this album - it's going to be magical."
The tour marks MCR's biggest production to date, promising elaborate stage designs inspired by the album's theatrical themes. The band plans to incorporate the original military-style uniforms and visual elements that defined The Black Parade era.
Guitarist Ray Toro hinted at surprises for longtime fans: "We're diving deep into the archives to include rare B-sides and alternate versions of songs from that period. This tour celebrates not just the album, but the entire Black Parade universe."
Pre-sale tickets will be available to fan club members starting next week, with general public sales beginning the following Friday. The tour is expected to span six months, with exact dates and venues to be announced in the coming weeks.
The announcement follows MCR's successful reunion tour in 2022, which saw the band playing to sold-out arenas worldwide. The Black Parade, released in 2006, remains one of rock music's most influential concept albums, having sold over 4 million copies globally.
