Rock legend Ozzy Osbourne has announced his final performance ever, reuniting with Black Sabbath for a historic homecoming show at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5th. The announcement comes as the singer continues his battle with Parkinson's disease, which he revealed to the public in 2020.
The landmark event, titled "Back To The Beginning," will feature the original Black Sabbath lineup performing together for the first time in two decades, with Osbourne joining Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward on stage. This reunion marks a poignant full-circle moment for the band that helped define heavy metal music.
"It's my time to go Back to the Beginning....time for me to give back to the place where I was born," said Osbourne. "Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever."
The concert boasts an impressive roster of metal's biggest names, including Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, and Alice In Chains. Notable musicians like Slash, Wolfgang Van Halen, and members of Limp Bizkit and The Smashing Pumpkins will also participate in this celebration of Osbourne's legacy.
All proceeds from the event will benefit three charitable organizations: Cure Parkinson's, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Acorn Children's Hospice.
Despite his health challenges, Osbourne has maintained his determination to perform. In 2022, he stated, "I am determined to get back on stage, even if I have to be nailed to a board and wheeled on. Survival is my legacy."
Tickets for this historic performance will be available through LiveNation starting February 14th at 10am GMT.
