The Royal Mail has announced a special collection of 12 commemorative stamps honoring legendary rock band AC/DC's 50th anniversary. Set for release on February 18, 2025, the collection pays tribute to one of rock music's most influential groups.
Eight stamps in the series capture electrifying moments from AC/DC's live performances across different decades, including their 1976 London show and a recent 2023 concert in India. The remaining four stamps showcase iconic album covers: High Voltage (1975), Highway to Hell (1979), Back in Black (1980), and Power Up (2020).
David Gold, Royal Mail's director of external affairs and policy, noted that AC/DC has created some of rock's greatest anthems over the past half-century, including Back in Black - the highest-selling rock album of all time.
Collectors can choose from 38 different variations and sets, including presentation packs, collector's sheets, and prestige sheets. A special Prestige Stamp Book features a 24-page booklet written by music journalist Jason Draper, containing rare photographs and all 12 stamps housed in a black case.
This philatelic honor places AC/DC among other legendary bands previously celebrated by Royal Mail, including The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, and The Who.
The stamp release coincides with AC/DC's upcoming tours, including their first North American tour in eight years beginning April 10 in Minneapolis, followed by European dates starting in June. UK fans can catch the band at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium on August 21, 2025.
The commemorative stamps are available for pre-order through the Royal Mail website.
