Slipknot percussionist M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan has provided an update on the band's long-awaited "Look Outside Your Window" album, confirming it will finally see the light of day in 2025.
Speaking with NME during Slipknot's current European/UK tour, Crahan revealed that the experimental project, recorded during the 2008 "All Hope Is Gone" sessions, is now in management's hands and moving forward toward release.
"I showed Corey the final artwork two days ago," Crahan said. "It is happening, but because of Christmas and New Year and the way business works, I can't slide it in this year. The money has been spent and there is a plan."
The album, which features Crahan alongside vocalist Corey Taylor, guitarist Jim Root, and turntablist Sid Wilson, was created as a side project while other band members recorded "All Hope Is Gone." Described as having a "Radiohead vibe," the record won't be considered an official Slipknot release.
"It was a very honest action to make music that wasn't Slipknot, but utilized the skills of guys with no rules," Crahan explained. "I don't know if it's 'good,' but I know that I love it."
Beyond the delayed album release, Crahan also hinted at new material in the works with Slipknot's current lineup, including new drummer Eloy Casagrande. He described the band's current creative atmosphere as reminiscent of their early days, with Taylor already writing and sharing new lyrics.
"We probably have several albums in us right now," Crahan revealed. "It's fun, like how it was when we were younger and writing music for ourselves."
The percussionist also teased additional surprises for fans in the coming year, suggesting unexpected announcements may arrive when least expected. "There are always some things you're not going to know about, and then, all of a sudden, you wake up and you're on your way to work: BANG! There's Slipknot."
