Stereophonics and 86TVs drummer Jamie Morrison was rushed to hospital just minutes before a scheduled performance at Nottingham's Rescue Rooms, forcing the cancellation of remaining UK tour dates.
The medical emergency occurred as the venue was preparing to open its doors for 86TVs' show. Morrison remains hospitalized, with doctors strongly advising against performing any upcoming concerts this week.
"We had quite a dramatic day yesterday when, minutes before doors opened in Nottingham, Jamie was rushed into hospital," 86TVs announced on social media. The band expressed their disappointment but emphasized that Morrison's health takes priority.
The cancelled tour dates included stops in Manchester, Bristol, London, Cambridge and Leeds, which were scheduled through December 1st. Fans holding tickets can seek refunds through their original point of purchase.
86TVs, featuring Morrison alongside The Maccabees' Hugo and Felix White and their brother Will, had been touring in support of their self-titled debut album released earlier this year. The band noted that the tour shows had been "our best ever" before the unexpected conclusion.
Morrison, known for his work with Welsh rock band Stereophonics as well as Noisettes and Drewford Alabama, remains under medical care. The specific cause of his hospitalization has not been disclosed.
The band apologized to fans who had made travel arrangements, acknowledging that many had planned well in advance to attend the final shows of the tour.
