In a recent interview with The Standard, legendary guitarist Pete Townshend has confirmed that iconic rock band The Who will be back in action in 2025. Despite both members "getting a bit creaky," Townshend assured fans that he and lead singer Roger Daltrey are in good spirits and ready to make some noise.

"We will definitely do something next year," Townshend stated, hinting at potential live performances. However, the exact nature of their upcoming activities remains unclear. While Townshend expressed enthusiasm for recording a new album, he admitted that Daltrey is less keen on the idea. "I would love to do another album and I may try to bully him on that," Townshend quipped.

The guitarist also revealed a desire to return to a more stripped-down, raw sound for future live shows. After recent tours featuring full orchestras, Townshend said the band is now "eager to make a noise and make a mess and make mistakes."

This news comes as a relief to fans who have been wondering about The Who's future. Earlier this year, Townshend had expressed uncertainty about the band's touring plans, but this latest update suggests that the rock legends are far from done.

While the specifics of their 2025 plans are yet to be determined, one thing is clear: The Who is not ready to say goodbye to the stage just yet. As they approach their 60th year as a band, Townshend and Daltrey continue to prove that rock 'n' roll knows no age limit.
