Country music legend Willie Nelson has unveiled his latest masterpiece - a cover of Beck's iconic song "Lost Cause." This release marks the third single from Nelson's upcoming album "Last Leaf On The Tree," set to drop on November 1st via Legacy Records.

The 90-year-old singer-songwriter has transformed Beck's melancholic 2002 hit into a haunting, atmospheric country ballad. Nelson's distinctive vocals, accompanied by his trusty guitar Trigger, breathe new life into the song while maintaining its inherent sadness.

This cover is part of Nelson's 76th solo studio album and his 153rd release overall. The project showcases Nelson's ability to honor fellow songwriters by reimagining their work through his unique lens.

Interestingly, Nelson's son Micah played a crucial role in the album's creation. Not only did he assist in song selection, but he also took on producing duties for the first time. Micah's influence is evident in the cover, as he provides vocal harmonies and guides the emotional crescendo of the track.

Beck himself expressed admiration for Nelson's interpretation, stating, "There's no one like him in music and it's the greatest honor to have him record this song."

"Last Leaf On The Tree" promises to be a diverse collection, featuring covers of songs by The Flaming Lips, Tom Waits, and Sunny War, among others. It also includes a new song co-written by Willie and Micah, titled "Color of Sound."

As fans eagerly await the full album, they can now stream Willie Nelson's rendition of "Lost Cause" on all major music platforms.
