Pop icon Madonna has excited fans with news of her upcoming music project, hinting at a potential sequel to her Grammy-winning 2005 album "Confessions on a Dance Floor."
The singer shared the announcement through Instagram on Valentine's Day, posting images of herself working in a recording studio alongside producer Stuart Price, who collaborated with her on the original "Confessions" album.
"My Valentine's Day gift to all my fans is to let you know I'm putting my heart and soul into my new music," Madonna wrote, adding the intriguing phrase "Confessions Part 2."
The original "Confessions on a Dance Floor," which will mark its 20th anniversary in November 2025, was a massive commercial success. The album topped charts worldwide, sold over 10 million copies, and earned Madonna a Grammy for Best Electronic/Dance Album. It featured hit singles like "Hung Up" and "Sorry."
Madonna previously confirmed that new music would arrive in 2025, coinciding with the anniversary. She has been working closely with Price, who recently served as musical director for her record-breaking Celebration tour.
The 66-year-old artist's last studio album, "Madame X," reached number one in the United States in 2019. Her recent collaboration with The Weeknd and Playboi Carti on "Popular" achieved notable success, surpassing one billion Spotify streams.
As fans eagerly await this potential sequel, the project suggests a return to the electronic and disco-influenced sound that characterized the original "Confessions" album.
