Beth Gibbons, the distinctive voice behind pioneering trip-hop band Portishead, has revealed plans for her debut North American solo tour in support of her 2024 album "Lives Outgrown."
The highly anticipated tour kicks off on March 29 in Philadelphia and wraps up on April 10 in Denver. Gibbons will also perform at two major festivals - the Big Ears Festival in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Coachella.
"The support for this record has been amazing," says Gibbons, expressing enthusiasm about connecting with fans across North America. "I'm looking forward to seeing some of you along the way."
This marks the first time the acclaimed vocalist will tour North America as a solo artist, following the release of her debut solo album earlier this year. Fans can secure their spots through a presale running until January 20, while general ticket sales begin January 24 at 10 a.m. local time.
The tour represents a new chapter for Gibbons, who has primarily been known for her work with Portishead, the influential British band that helped define the trip-hop genre in the 1990s. Her solo venture showcases her artistic evolution beyond the band's signature sound.
