Guitar Center has announced a new grant program to help musicians replace instruments and equipment lost in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that have displaced thousands of residents.

The music retail giant is offering one-time grants of up to $1,500 per applicant to replace destroyed instruments and gear. Musicians and music programs in the Los Angeles area can apply for the grants through February 28, 2025.

This initiative joins other relief efforts from major music industry organizations. Fender has committed $100,000 to help replenish lost instruments, while MusiCares is providing $1,500 in financial aid plus $500 grocery cards to qualifying music professionals.

"As the fires continue to impact our communities, we want to help musicians get back to creating and performing as quickly as possible," said a Guitar Center Foundation representative. Applicants will need to provide proof of loss or residence in affected areas.

The Entertainment Community Fund and Sweet Relief Musicians Fund have also launched programs offering financial assistance for basic living expenses to affected music industry professionals in Los Angeles County.

These combined industry efforts aim to support the diverse LA music community as it recovers from the fires that have displaced nearly 180,000 residents. Musicians seeking assistance can apply directly through the Guitar Center Foundation.

The wildfires have now entered their ninth day, causing extensive damage to homes and businesses throughout the Los Angeles area. Relief organizations continue to assess needs and expand support as the situation develops.
