Legendary horror director and composer John Carpenter will return to live performances with his first-ever music residency this October at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles.

The filmmaker behind classics like "Halloween," "The Thing," and "Escape From New York" has scheduled four shows on October 24th, 25th, 31st, and November 1st, marking his first live concerts since 2018.

"I've been setting my nightmares, dreams and visions to music for a very long time, and there's a lot to choose from," Carpenter said. "That means every night of this event will offer something different and unexpected."

The concert series, titled "JOHN CARPENTER LIVE," will feature collaborations with Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. The performances will draw from Carpenter's extensive musical catalog, including scores from over 20 films and five albums of Lost Themes.

The residency also supports charitable causes, with $2 from each ticket benefiting the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, which aids incarcerated firefighters, and the Best Friends Animal Society, supporting animals affected by Los Angeles wildfires.

Presale tickets are currently available for pre-registered fans, while general public sales begin Friday, January 31st at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

The announcement comes as Carpenter maintains a busy schedule, composing the score for A24's "Death of a Unicorn" and directing "John Carpenter's Suburban Screams" from his couch.
