Music legend Sir Paul McCartney has announced plans to complete a new solo album in 2025. The 82-year-old former Beatle shared this news through a Q&A session on his official website following the conclusion of his UK 'Got Back' tour dates.
When asked about his New Year's resolutions for 2025, McCartney revealed he aims to finish an album of new material that he's been working on. "I've been working on a lot of songs and have had to put it to the side because of the tour," McCartney explained. "I'm hoping to get back into that and finish up a lot of these songs."
The upcoming release would mark McCartney's first solo album since 2020's 'McCartney III', which completed his self-titled trilogy following 1970's 'McCartney I' and 1980's 'McCartney II'. His most recent musical project was 2021's 'McCartney III Imagined', a collection of remixes and covers featuring collaborations with artists like Idris Elba and Damon Albarn.
While specific details about the new album's content remain under wraps, McCartney's announcement suggests fans can look forward to fresh material from the prolific songwriter in 2025. The project represents his continued creative output after over six decades in the music industry.
"'My New Year's resolution is to finish a new album!' How about that for a teaser?" McCartney added enthusiastically in the Q&A, showing his excitement for the upcoming project.
