Scottish rock legends Simple Minds have announced an extensive North American tour for 2025, joined by '80s contemporaries Modern English and Soft Cell. The tour celebrates the 40th anniversary of Simple Minds' breakthrough album "Once Upon a Time."
The trek kicks off on May 16 in Ridgefield, Washington, and wraps up on June 22 in Noblesville, Indiana. The band will perform at major venues across the U.S. and Canada, including stops in Chicago, Denver, Toronto, Phoenix, Houston, and Los Angeles.
"Been a while but absence makes the heart grow fonder," said Simple Minds frontman Jim Kerr. "Simple Minds are ecstatic at the prospect of touring so extensively in the U.S. and Canada this coming spring."
The tour coincides with a special expanded reissue of "Once Upon a Time," which now includes their iconic hit "Don't You (Forget About Me)." Originally featured only on "The Breakfast Club" soundtrack, the song has been added to commemorate four decades since it topped international charts.
Ticket sales begin with artist presales on Wednesday, January 29, at 10 AM local time, followed by local presales on Thursday, January 30. General public ticket sales start Friday, January 31, at 10 AM local time.
Simple Minds recently released a new single titled "Your Name In Lights" in 2024, following their 2022 album "Direction of the Heart." The band is also the subject of a new documentary, "Simple Minds: Everything Is Possible," currently streaming in the UK.
This tour marks Simple Minds' first major U.S. run since 2018, promising fans a nostalgic journey through their extensive catalog of hits, including "Alive and Kicking," "All The Things She Said," and "Sanctify Yourself."
