My Chemical Romance's former drummer Bob Bryar, who was found deceased at age 44 in his Tennessee home.
"The band asks for your patience and understanding as they process the news of Bob's passing," the group shared through their spokesperson.
Bryar was discovered at his residence after being last seen alive on November 4. While authorities are investigating the cause of death, they have indicated no foul play is suspected.
During his tenure with the band, Bryar performed on several major releases including their breakthrough album "The Black Parade" (2006) and "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys" (2010). He joined the group after working as a sound engineer for other bands, replacing original drummer Matt Pelissier.
In a previous interview with Alternative Press, Bryar spoke fondly of recording "The Black Parade": "As we were recording the record, I was getting more and more excited. It was turning out to be a very complete and a very entertaining audio story."
After departing from My Chemical Romance in 2010, Bryar stepped away from the music industry in 2014 to pursue real estate. He remained active in charitable causes, particularly animal rescue efforts. In recent years, he auctioned off band memorabilia including his MTV VMAs drum kit and Black Parade uniform to support various animal shelters.
The medical examiner continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Bryar's death, with further details pending.
